The “Vietnam National Pavilion”: Expanding the way to export directly to the Chinese market

On the morning of November 30, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) proclaimed the program “Vietnam National Pavilion”, the first Vietnamese goods space on the JD e-commerce platform. “Vietnam National Pavilion” on e-commerce platform JD.com

With the goal of supporting the development and promoting the export of Vietnamese goods through cross-border e-commerce, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) cooperated with JD Group to operate the B2B2C cross-border e-commerce model through the “Vietnam National Pavilion” on the JD.COM e-commerce platform.

**B2B2C is a business model of cooperation between two businesses (B2B) to create and provide products and services to end consumers (B2C).

Press conference to announce “Vietnam National Pavilion”

“This will be the national pavilion symbolizing Vietnamese products and the first Vietnamese goods’ space on the international e-commerce platform. The online platform in China is chaired by Vietnam and deployed through cross-border e-commerce,” said Mr. Dang Hoang Hai, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy.

The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy will coordinate with units such as VinaNutrifood, Viettel Post, VPBank, etc. to construct a new distribution channel for enterprises to export goods to the Chinese market, promote trade, and bring high-quality Vietnamese products to the international market conveniently and effectively.

Vietnamese exporters, taking part in the booth, will receive support from operation, logistics, financial support, and image promotion right in the importing country market.

Benefits that “Vietnam National Pavilion” brings

The stall on JD will increase the advantages for Vietnamese goods and expand the way for Vietnamese goods to be exported across borders. In addition, this will increase resources and reduce risks for Vietnamese businesses when they step into a big world playground.

However, there will be many risk operations, so it is necessary to connect with partners, foreign trade agencies, and credit institutions to create a support business ecosystem. This will bring success to Vietnamese businesses, taking part in cross-border trade flows.

The reason why is JD instead of Alibaba

JD Group is currently China’s largest group with many operating models such as e-commerce, supermarket, convenience store, etc. In particular, JD’s logistics system is considered the largest and most modern, with tens of thousands of warehouses spread throughout China’s provinces and cities.

JD has succeeded in applying the B2B2C model for the consumption of goods imported from abroad. Besides Vietnam, there are many other countries such as Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. also built successfully a national pavilion on JD.com e-commerce site.

JD has created great success when applying the B2B2C model to the consumption of goods imported from abroad.

The high operating costs, which bring many difficulties in opening a store on the world’s largest e-commerce platform, are part of the reason why Vietnam has not chosen Alibaba. This floor also does not have many policies to support businesses, so it will be difficult to open a booth here.
