Logistics robot, a potential market for businesses
On June 15, at CJ’s TES Innovation Center in Dongtan, Gyeonggi-do, with the participation of Kim Kyung-hoon, the head of the TES Logistics Technology Institute, and Jang Ik-hwan, the head of the ministry. LG Electronics’ BS division, LG Electronics signed a MOU agreement with CJ Logistics to jointly develop logistics robots.
The global logistics and logistics robot market is growing rapidly. According to Japan’s Fuji Research Institute, the relevant market size will reach 11.5 trillion won by 2025.
Step by step implementing the plan
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly establish optimal robot operation procedures for each logistics center, develop self-driving robot-based order-picking systems to find and classify products, and apply Robot solutions for CJ Logistics’ warehouses.
Accordingly, next month, logistics robotics solutions such as LG CLOi CarryBot, warehouse facility control solutions and many robot control systems will be provided by LG Electronics to CJ’s largest logistics center Megahub Gonjiam. . It is known that CLOi CarryBot is an automatic mobile robot (AMR) developed from an automatic navigation vehicle (AGV). This type of robot helps to load a large number of products and transport them to their destination. Last month, LG Electronics completed CLOi CarryBot verification and will prepare to conduct conceptual verification (POC) activities at major logistics centers.
In addition to providing logistics robots, LG Electronics will also focus on establishing logistics solutions for all logistics processes from ordering to last mile delivery.
