In the context of manufacturing suspension, THACO AUTO is still urgently concentrating all resources to complete the order of 6,050 semi-trailers on time. The order will be loaded with 20-foot exporting to the US under a contract signed with Dorsey Intermodal, a subsidiary of PITTS Enterprises – one of 15 major semi-trailer manufacturers in the US.
The first shipment will be in November 2021, THACO AUTO is negotiating new contracts with Dorsey for production and delivery in the third and fourth quarters of 2022.
By the plan, from 2022, THACO AUTO will export from 12,000 to 15,000 semi-trailers to the US each year, and simultaneously expand to Australia and Japan markets.

Since February 2020, THACO AUTO has become a big export partner of Dorsey.
“THACO AUTO’s products are of good quality, suitable for the needs of the market as well as functional such as ensuring traffic standards in the US”, said Mr. Ed Gill – Vice President of Dorsey Intermodal in charge of Sales.
THACO factory has upgraded technology lines, increased capacity from 5,000 products/year to 20,000 products/year. THACO AUTO is managing to keep the price stable, through negotiation with suppliers.
The biggest obstacles to export of THACO AUTO in particular is logistics. The complicated epidemic has pushed freight to the peak point in the history of the transportation industry, 4-5 times higher than in 2019.

THACO AUTO has worked hard to seek the best logistical solutions. The RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipping option was applied due to its low freight rates, labor savings, quick transit time, and transport of bulky goods with large quantities.
To transport the large amounts of goods, the port must be able to receive at least 50,000-ton-ships. Quang Nam province has implemented a policy to upgrade the port capacity.
THACO AUTO shipped over 350 automobiles and semi-trailers of various types in the first six months of 2021, with the export value of spare parts and mechanical components reaching $15 million.
In the 2021 plan, THACO AUTO will penetrate new markets in Europe, South America, South Asia, Australia, GCC Gulf countries, etc. They aim to export more than 3,900 vehicles of all kinds with the export value of spare parts and accessories and mechanics reaching more than 30 million USD.
