The establishment of TPX and TP20 routes will not affect the change of the company’s existing sea network and fully comply with the regulations that have been introduced previously.

Not only Maersk, but other shipping lines such as HMM (Korea), Zim (Israel) have also added trans-Pacific waterways because the development of e-commerce leads to consumer demand. use is increasing rapidly.

New opportunities for Vietnamese shipping

Statistics from the Vietnam Seaport Association show that from the beginning of 2021 until now, container cargo through Cai Mep – Thi Vai area in Vung Tau reached about 2,3 million TEUs, up 47% over the same period last year. With this achievement, Cai Mep – Thi Vai continues to be in the group of seaports with the fastest growth in the world, with an increase of about 22% per year.

According to that, the Vung Tau seaport has gradually formed a corridor connecting the most important economic centers of the country (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City) and connecting internationally with dozens of the largest shipping lines in the world.

In the first 6 months of 2021, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Port (TCIT) has received 3 new service routes: AA3, AA7 (connecting Vietnam-US) and CI8 (connecting Vietnam-West India) ) of the Wan Hai shipping line. This brings the total number of international service routes at TCIT to 11 routes, of which 7 are connecting to North America, 1 connecting to the US – Canada, 1 European route, and 2 Inner Asia routes.
