At the beginning of May, the Ministry of Transport received a document from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam about the cancellation of Globaltrans Air’s general aviation business license.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Globaltrans Air has been granted a general aviation business license by the Ministry of Transport since April 2018. However, Globaltrans Air has yet to be awarded an AOC (Air Operator Certificate) certificate following the regulations on conditional activity in the sphere of air transport. The Bureau also received no communication from Globaltrans Air regarding the issue of the AOC.
If the AOC conditions are not met, the general aviation business license will be canceled, according to the provisions of Decree No. 89/2019. This decree mandates the air transport operator to begin operations within 18 months of receiving the license and up to 18 months of receiving an AOC certificate, otherwise, the license would be revoked License for the general aviation business.
For the aforementioned reasons, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam proposed the Ministry of Transport cancels the general aviation business license granted to Globaltrans Air.
On June 11, the Ministry of Transport invited relevant regulatory agencies and businesses to attend a meeting to listen to reports and give opinions on the cancellation of Globaltrans Air’s license. However, the Department was unable to contact the legal representative of Globaltrans Air. Therefore, the parties present at the meeting agreed with the proposal of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, this is the case to cancel the license according to the provisions of Decree 89/2019.
The cancellation of the license with Globaltrans Air takes effect from August 18. The Ministry of Transport requires this enterprise to be responsible for settling transportation contracts and financial obligations related to the general aviation business following the law.
