Cambodia shipped 355,550 tons of fresh cassava roots to Vietnam, accounting for 75.7 percent of total cassava exports; the remainder was exported to Thailand. Regarding cashew nuts, Cambodia exports to a number of countries such as Vietnam, China, Thailand, Japan, India, etc. In which, the export volume to Vietnam is 869,540 tons, accounting for 99.2% of the country’s total cashew export turnover.

Improve quality, increase competitiveness
Cambodia is a country with significant competitiveness in agricultural products in Southeast Asia, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This country’s agricultural products have great yields and increased quality, making them attractive in many countries.
For example, Cambodia’s pepper farmers are less intensive than Vietnamese farmers but their productivity is always at the top of the region with 6.4 tons per hectare, while Vietnam’s productivity is only half of this neighboring country. About 95% of Cambodia’s annual pepper harvest is for export, with two major consumption sources being Vietnam and Thailand.
Cambodia is also promoting many other high-quality agricultural products. In which, fruit is being promoted by Cambodia in terms of area and increased supply, helping the country to become more and more competitive in the markets of China, Thailand, and the Philippines.
