This is one of two experiments conducted by MAERSK LINE at Cai Lan International Container Port (CICT) to assess economic efficiency to open an international container ship through Cai Lan port in the future.
Maersk Container Ship Docked at Cai Lan Port
Recently, Quang Ninh province authorities have allowed pilot implementation of measures to prevent and control of Covid-19 for 2 container ships of MAERSK LINE that are currently docked at CICT Cai Lan.
Crews are tested for antigens under the monitoring of authorities. During the cargo handling process, no direct contact between crew members and individuals on the shore were allowed. Inland waterway vessels were not allowed to access the ship’s side.
As planned, the Cape Moss ship will leave CICT Cai Lan port in the afternoon of September 10th.
Potential to Vietnam international trading development
Expectedly, on September 14th, CICT Cai Lan will receive the Synergy Busan ship (Marshall nationality, IMO number 9450571) to unload 2,029 containers and load 359 cargo containers on board.
Cai Lan port receiving container ships of the world’s largest shipping, MAERSK LINE is a very positive signal for Vietnam international trading.
If the international container shipping routes formation comes into practice, the connection between Cai Lan port with major markets, especially Europe, the US, China, Japan, Korea, and ASEAN will bring a lot of foreign investment to Vietnam.
