Tan Cang Hiep Phuoc stop rice packaging service
On August 24, 2021, Tan Cang Hiep Phuoc Joint Stock Company (TCHP) signed Notice No. 280/TCHP-TB to announce the temporary suspension of rice packing service due to the pandemic.
TCHP is a satellite port of Cai Mep port system in the logistics service supply system of Saigon Newport, where collecting, gathering and clearing agricultural products, general department stores, etc. for Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.
Currently, only Wharf 125 Tan Cang Cat Lai and Tan Cang Nhon Trach port are still in operation to serve the packing of rice by. But the packing capacity is much lower.
Besides, in Can Tho, Tan Cang Thot Not Port has not yet reopened. The volume of goods being congested at this port as of August 26, 2021 is 6,000 tons, equivalent to about 300 unpacked containers.
Other seaport areas operation are still normal
Data from the import-export management agency showed that the current stock at Cat Lai port is more than 81%, ensuring the planned container inventory level of 85%.
From August 23, the number of customers coming to the port for customs clearance and delivery, as well as the number of ships and vehicles entering and leaving the port has continuously decreased as before the strengthening of pandemic controlling measures. Specifically, on August 23-24 and August 25, the unloading volume decreased by 12%, 42% and 69%, respectively. The delivery volume decreased by 37% on August 23, down 42% on August 24 and down 33% on August 25.
In the week of August 16-22, the volume of ship loading and unloading decreased by 15%, delivery reduced by 24%. This figure for vehicle arrivals and customs declaration staff is 20% and 40% respectively. These indicators dropped after Ho Chi Minh City tightened the social distancing measures.
Ports in Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Kien Giang, Dong Thap and An Giang ports operate normally, without local congestion.
