Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, only 5/12 border gates in Lang Son province have operated goods clearance, of which Coc Nam border gate only conducts one-way customs clearance. It is this that increases the number of trucks carrying goods to the border gates that are still in operation, leading to local congestion, affecting the time of goods clearance, which is concentrated at two border gates as Huu Nghi international border gate and Tan Thanh border gate.
Agencies combine to solve congestion at the border
To solve this situation, the Management Board of the Dong Dang – Lang Son border gate economic zone in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Foreign Affairs held two direct talks with the equivalent agency of Guangxi (China) to discuss change and propose solutions to improve customs clearance capacity. Accordingly, China’s functional forces have now carried out the procedures 1 hour earlier and finished 1 hour later than before (from 7 am to 8 pm), helping to increase the number of vehicles that can be cleared in the coming time. day.
In addition, in order to promptly handle problems in the import and export activities of goods passing through the border gates of the two sides, the provincial management agencies and functional forces at the border gate also developed plans and implemented a number of measures to facilitate the fastest and most favorable customs clearance.
Accordingly, Lang Son Customs Department has directed border-gate customs branches to closely follow the progress of customs clearance, measure the time of customs clearance of goods, in order to grasp the situation and take corrective measures, not to the time for checking in is longer than 1 minute for consignments of the Green channel and no more than 3 minutes for the consignments of the Yellow channel.
At the same time, Lang Son Customs and Lang Son Border Guard also coordinate to separate and regulate the two export and import flows; division of time frames for each type of import-export goods, especially export goods. In which, priority will be given to arranging a time frame in the morning for trucks carrying fresh fruit to carry out customs clearance.

Therefore, to ensure that the customs clearance of import and export goods is not interrupted, Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Branch proposed to the People’s Committee of Lang Son province to exchange ideas and hold talks with the Chinese side to discuss solutions creating favorable conditions, speeding up the clearance of import and export goods to reduce the congestion and congestion of goods at the border gate, especially agricultural products of Vietnam for export, raw materials and imported electronic components for service domestic production in the context of export activities being heavily affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.
