On July 1, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Chairman of the Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee had just decided to construct and upgrade wharf No. 1 at Quy Nhon Port and expand Quy Nhon Port by 2030 (phase 1). Both are invested by Quy Nhon Port Joint Stock Company.
Specifically, the wharf No. 1 Quy Nhon port will be extended by 35m water area to the 480m total length of the berth, ensuring the simultaneous reception of two full-load 30,000 DWT container ships and full-load container ships of 50,000 DWT in the following phase.
The project will be started in the third quarter of 2021 and put into use in late 2022 with an expected sea surface area of 16,800 m2.
The initial investment of about 510 billion VND including about 204 billion VND contributed capital and nearly 306 billion VND loan. The project duration is 50 years.
Authorities of Binh Dinh Province approved detailed plan 1/500 of port expansion and environmental impact assessment procedure earlier.
The project file has also been appraised by the Ministry of Transport, etc, so that construction can begin in the third quarter of 2021 and be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
The project aim is to develop categories such as warehouses, cargo yards, container yards, port technical infrastructure, etc. Total land area of the project is about 3.8 hectares with the investment of about 50 billion VND. In which, the contributed capital of the investors is 15 billion VND and the loan is 35 billion VND.
