Expansion of Allied Express
As the boom in e-commerce accelerates the expansion of 3PL logistics providers, Aware Super, the Australian Industrial Superannuation Fund, recently signed a contract with the express delivery company and freight Allied Express to own a new $90 million warehouse on the land of Bankstown Airport in Sydney’s south-west. This new Bankstown warehouse will allow Allied Express direct access to the M5 motorway, Sydney CBD, Port Botany and Western Sydney Airport.
The warehouse complex, which is expected to open later this year, will feature a sorting system specifically built to handle bulk items such as sofas, kayaks and other equipment. other sports.
Allied Express also committed to a 10-year lease for a new 19,980-square-foot warehouse and office space on the $600 million Altitude property. At the same time, the company will also consolidate its New South Wales operations and headquarters into a large distribution center, with 18,000 square meters of warehouse space and 1,980 square meters of corporate office space spread across two floors. This will help double the company’s influence in Sydney, while helping to handle the volume of e-commerce merchandise that has been trending up since the pandemic.
“Over the past two years, we have seen rapid growth in our e-commerce services,” said Ms. McDowell, president of Allied Express, “With that in mind, access to central Sydney is an important factor for us.”
