Project details
According to the decision of the Ministry of Transport, the project has the starting point at Km0+000 (the endpoint of the Thai Nguyen – Cho Moi expressway, Cho Moi district, Bac Kan province); The endpoint of the project is at Km28+000 (intersection with National Highway 3B, connecting with the starting point of Bac Kan road project – Ba Be lake), Bac Kan city, Bac Kan province. The total length of the route is about 28 km.
The expressway under the Project goes on the right of Cau River from Km0 to about Km8+300, then crosses Cau River, cuts National Highway 3, and continues on the left of Cau River (in the direction of Thai Nguyen – Bac Kan) to reach the endpoint of the route.
The project is built according to TCVN 5729-2012 standards, highway level 80, calculated speed 80km/h; roadbed is 12m wide, the road surface is 11m wide; bridge gauge is equal to roadbed gauge.
Total project investment is estimated at VND 2,017 billion from the state budget, of which the capital allocation in the medium-term plan for the period 2021 – 2025 is VND 1,815.3 billion.
The Ministry of Transport assigned the Department of Construction Management and Quality of Traffic Works and related agencies to direct the Project Management Board 2 to implement the formulation of investment projects to ensure progress, quality, and compliance with regulations. current.
Open up new opportunities
After the Cho Moi – Bac Kan expressway is completed, a highway will be formed with a length of nearly 70km, shortening the distance. The travel time between Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan is about 1 hour compared to 2 – 3 hours when traveling on the old National Highway 3.
The investment in the construction of the project aims to gradually complete the Cho Moi – Bac Kan route according to the planning, strengthen connectivity, improve exploitation capacity, reduce traffic accidents, and meet the transportation demand on the corridor transport from Bac Kan to localities in the Northern key economic region in order to promote socio-economic development, ensure security and national defense.
It is known that in the period of 2021-2025, Bac Kan will be invested by the Central Government to build two arterial roads, creating a breakthrough for economic development, especially tourism, including Cho Moi – Bac Kan and the city road. Bac Kan street to Ba Be lake, connecting to Na Hang. The total investment of the two projects is more than 4,000 billion VND.
The two routes will create an important foundation to promote tourism development in Ba Be, Bac Kan province and Na Hang, Tuyen Quang province, especially when the two provinces are coordinating with ministries, branches and the Government to finalize submissions. UNESCO recognized Ba Be – Na Hang natural heritage as a world heritage, etc.
