On June 1, 2020, THACO exported to the US 36 semi-trailers manufactured at THACO SPECIAL VEHICLES MANUFACTURING LIMITED COMPANY (Thaco SV) in THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park (Quang Nam). US market is one of the most demanding markets in the world with strict requirements for quality standards but THACO has successfully penetrated and participated more deeply in the global value chain.
For penetrating to the US market, THACO has researched, surveyed and signed a memorandum of understanding on manufacturing and distributing semi-trailers with PITTS Enterprises – one of the 15 major trailer manufacturers in North America with history of more than 100 years. According to the contract, this 36 semi-trailers shipment is the first shipment of 69 semi-trailers manufactured by PITTS Enterprises. In the near future, PITTS Enterprises will develop and innovate new products to meet customer needs and increase market share in the US.
Exported products include 20 feet skid trailers, 40 feet trailers and extendable trailers. THACO SV has surveyed and researched US market in order to produce products that meet quality standards. Trailers are equipped with advanced features such as the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to help the vehicle operate safely; PSI Tire Inflation System that keeps the tire pressure stable and be equipped warning LEDs to help detect air leaks. In addition, the trailer is also equipped Stemco Hubodometer mounted on the trailer to help tracking, warranty and maintenance.
Since April 2020, THACO has exported two specialized 54 feet semi-trailers (expanded 74 feet) for shipping wooden houses to the US. The product is equipped with Drawbar tow bar tongue capable of bearing a maximum load of 27 tons, two independent pneumatic brake systems; an air suspension system helps the semi-trailer operate smoothly, combined with the Wabco lift axle control valve mechanism to adjust the height of the trailer center for easy execution. This type of trailer can transport many different types of bungalows with a maximum load of up to 25 tons. According to plan, this shipment will arrive Charleston (USA) on June 2.
THACO’s semi-trailer products have reached many markets such as Columbia, Korea, and the US due to high quality and superior performance. In the upcoming plan, THACO will hand over 33 semi-trailers to PITTS Enterprises in June and continue to finish contract performance which has been signed in 2020 and boosting the market share in Japan, Australia and ASEAN countries.
